This will be a great opportunity for potential producers, those who make commercials, acting students and videographers, so they can all have contact with professionals from the filmmaking industry.
The event will take place December 3rd at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Posada Hotel.
The workshop is called, "When Hollywood comes to town" and it is sponsored by the Texas Film Commission together with the Leadership Institute of Texas.
"The idea is to get Laredo on the list of cities in which movies, of any genre, can be filmed, because this will definitely help the local economy," Councilman Hector Garcia pointed out.
He considered it to be important to take the first step so that the producers can see Laredo and they will want to come and produce great films the Hollywood style.
The workshops attendees should take their hand cameras and they will receive instructions and filming tips and will also receive information about on-line courses that can make them real professionals.
The event will have a 99 dollar entrance fee, which will include a meal, and the deadline to register is November 24.
For more information please contact Councilman Garcia at: (956) 337-8255.
