LAREDO, Tx.- A resident from the state of Morelos tried to bluff Border Patrol at the La Puerta International Bridge as he tried to make it seem that he was an legal resident of the United States.By: LAREDO SUN
Luis Alberto Romero Alvarez, 30, had in his possession a resident card that belonged to someone named Juan Méndez Díaz.
The document had his picture on it but he seemed very nervous as Customs and Border Protection officers examined him, they determined to send him to a secondary inspection.
Alvarez said he was a legal resident and that he was headed back from México after visiting some family members. Then officials ran finger prints and all his information and realized that he was a native of Yecapixtla, Morelos.
Romero Alvarez later accepted that he was undocumentented so he was sent to a Laredo Detention Center as he awaits Federal charges.
