According to Texas A&M International University's Web site and the Department of Public Relations, the university will be closed for the remainder of the day due to power outages (rolling blackouts) across the campus.By: Alan Treviņo, The Laredo Sun
The university's Web site states,
"Continued energy outages on campus have prompted the University's closure. Offices are closed and classes suspended for the remainder of the day.
Campus residents should contact their respective residence assistant.
The University plans to open tomorrow, Thursday. Any changes to this plan will be communicated by DustyALRT, posted to the University's web site and social media and shared with local media."
Although, TAMIU does plan to re-open the university on February 3, 2011. The public is encouraged to visit www.tamiu.edu for further developments and information.
