LAREDO, TX .- Mucia Dovalina, spokeswoman for the federal agency, said that work is being performed to complete the project by August.

It is noteworthy that during the months of July and August this international crossing records the highest number of visitors, which far exceeds the daily average of 11,500 vehicles.

Currently the bridge has 12 booths on the American side, two of them assigned for SENTRI and their newest addition of the Ready Lane.

There are four booths in operation at the Gateway to the Americas International Bridge and four in Colombia. When the booths are completed, there will be 23 lanes open to process more traffic and there are also three additional lanes open in the old batch of imports when movement of cars gets hectic.

Just last Monday, the customs authorities of Laredo Ready Lane opened the program, using the left-hand lane at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge.
