LAREDO, TX. - Bernardino Mendoza, 63, was arrested by inspectors from the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection for showning an expired legal resident card.

The case was registered at one of the international bridges when a man coming from Mexico showed his card with his photo and name.

The man was sent to secondary and authorities found out he was deported to Mexico in October 1991, and therefore cannot have legal residency in the United States.

The native of Tlazazalca, Michoacan, was placed under arrest and sent to jail pending a federal indictment.
