Man Arrested for Human Trafficking in Cotulla

LAREDO, Tx.- A San Antonio man has been detained by federal agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as he was recognized as the mastermind of an organization that is dedicated to the trafficking fo humans in cargo trucks.

He is identified as Hubert Chávez who was arrested in the Cotulla area, as he was held up for speeding.

As they ran a check on him they discovered he had an arrest warrant in Bexar County for violating probation. Officials verified that he was also wanted by ICE authorities in an investigation of organized crime who transported illegal immigrants.

In fact recently, Boreder Patrol agents held two men that stated that they worked for Chavez , they were identified as Luis Nava and Arthur Medrano, both residents of San Antonio, while they transported some illegal immigrants.

Chávez has a construction company in San Antonio that he uses as a cover up but now he faces federal charges in Laredo.
