LAREDO, TX. - Since last year, customs officials began construction of three new booths that are ready but require the installation of the electronic system to process the crossing of vehicles and people.
The booths are expected to be open in late June, where visitors from Mexico increase.
It is worth mentioning that since February of last year the port of Laredo has had a 9% increase in vehicles and people crossing into the United States.
This year also reflects an increase in the number of permits for tourists.
Currently the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection operates 12 booths in the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge, including lanes for the SENTRI program.
In addition, the customs authorities will open up four houses in Gateway to the Americas International Bridge and four in Colombia Solidarity international Bridge.
Customs officials in Laredo asked the tourists to put their "two cents" to streamline the crossings and it is advisable to carry your immigration documents hand and declare goods brought from Mexico.
It was also recommended to use the radio station 1610 AM to receive reports and tips on crosses in the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge.
