LCC theater technical director William A. Hauserman promises a showcase of unforgettable shows without hurting your wallets. "People will get to experience a great and affordable evening of theater.
The quality of the writing, as well as the acting, will make audience members experience different emotions. I expect the audience to truly have a cathartic experience when coming to see these three plays.” Despite the challenges that producing three award-winning plays could bring in such a tight schedule, Hauserman and the college theater company remain focused and welcome the community with anticipation.
“It will be a remarkable sight to watch LCC stage the plays in such a short time. Plays usually take 6 to 8 weeks to prepare and this schedule will be quite a challenge to the production teams, casts, technicians, and audiences.
This summer there will be a lot of drama, as well as comedy.” Hauserman explained that the Pulitzer Prize winner ‘Night, Mother is a dark and intense drama about the last night of a woman who, because of a series of unhappy and stale events in her life, announces to her mother that she will commit suicide.
The gripping portrayal of a mother and daughter in crisis takes a turn for the worse as a life nears its tragic conclusion. “Night, Mother sets the stage for LCC’s first summer stock program and it’s presented by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc., New York.
General Admission is $7 and $5 for students. For more information about the Summer Stock Theater Project, call the LCC Fine Arts Center office at 721- 5334.
