LAREDO, TX. — CLHD receives all public vaccine from The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The DSHS has advised us that, due to their lack of funding, there is no further safety-net vaccine available for adults.

College students entering the university for the first time must be vaccinated but will need to seek vaccine from their private provider, university health center, or pharmacies.

Students should ask their doctors as this is covered by health insurance.

If students are having a difficulty getting the vaccine they should discuss this with their respective university. More information can be found at, http://CollegeVaccineRequirements.com

This does not affect meningitis vaccine for the students and children 18 years and under covered by the Texas Vaccine for Children’s Program (TVFC).

Any changes to the availablity will be communicated to the public.

For more information, please contact the CLHD Immunization Clinic at (956) 795-4906.
