LPO Hosts Meet and Greet

LAREDO, TX. - On Thursday Aug. 9, 2012 beginning at 6:30 p.m at the Laredo Center for the Arts, the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) will host a "Meet & Greet" to introduce the chefs and the entertainment that will make up the Celebrity Chef Gala - Texas Style.

This is the third year that the LPO has held a Celebrity Chef Gala. The organizing committee decided to add a little twist to the event by inviting Country music star, Mick Cruz to be the featured entertainer, and local Barbecue favorite, Chef Pete Mims to be the lead Chef.

The honoree for the Gala will be Dr. Ray M. Keck, III who is no stranger to the philharmonic, having served as the board's first president in 1980, and creating the tripartite arrangement that brought the LPO into partnership with TAMIU and LCC.

At the Meet and Greet, chefs who will offer a few samplings of the types of Texas-style food offerings one can taste at the Gala. Doors open at 6:30 with samplings, autograph signings and entertainment by the Laredo Cello Choir.

There will also be a few items available for purchase through a silent auction. Tickets to this casual event cost $50. Tickets can be purchased from any board member, Laredo Center for the Arts or at Cantu Interiors.
