Child Operation Gatekeeper was conducted this summer for the third consecutive year in which the four cyber unit investigators posed as minors to catch predators.
"We found everything from former officers of the law to office workers. They are people who don’t seem like criminals, but once on the network, they are dedicated to finding children for sex,” said Fred Garza, Sheriff Cuellar’s assistant.
He said that these persons first have to come into contact with investigators seeking to get close to the victim. Then the agents make plans to meet them at a hotel or other places to capture them.
The list of detainees included: Luis de la Rosa, Antonio Martinez III, Roberto Lozano Jr., Steven Villarreal, Juan Castillo and Alberto Filio. They are all from Laredo and received charges of soliciting sex over the Internet to minors, a third offense felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison.
In 2010 the Sheriff's Department first implemented this operation arresting eight people, 12 in 2011, and this year six more were arrested where there are four pending cases.

Great new Internet Child Spot-Check To Protect software really helps parents. Take a look at "Quick-View HOME" at SilentViewer.
Easy, very effective and inexpensive.
