Laredo has 153 HIV / AIDS

LAREDO, Tx.- The city is closing 2009 with a total of 153 HIV/AIDS cases, which are currently being attended by the local health sector with all expenses covered.

The Local Health Department in all has treated 457 positive HIV / AIDS cases since 1985, when this program was born.

However, just in this year a total of 153 cases were attended in Laredo; and the local government is trying to keep a better control and monitor each and every one of the patients.

The cost of the medicines and the treatment that the patients have to take for life is covered by the local government. A complete medical service package is assigned to the family of the patient, which includes personalized professional attention.
