LAREDO, Tx.- A native from the capital of Mexico tried to fool immigration inspectors at the Juarez-Lincoln international bridge, pretending to be a legal U.S.

resident, but did not succeed and now sits in jail.

Valentín García Leija, 28, has become the most recent case of those persons who attempt to cross to the American side with fraudulent documents.

García Leija, arrived to a booth on the bridge and demonstrated a passport with a special legal resident visa.

The document was in his name and had his photograph on it but the inspector noticed something strange and decided to send him to secondary.

With the use of the IDENT system the subjects finger prints were compared and it was determined that García Leija was not a legal resident.

The system also revealed that the subject was deported by federal authorities in November 2007.
