José Angel Flores declared that he was robbed but finished confessing that he had sold the tools to a pawn shop.

LAREDO, Tx.- A man who first reported that his tools were stolen from a truck company where he works, was arrested when he was caught pawning them.

The incident took place on January 11th when detectives began an investigation upon receiving a complaint from a company owner, who accused one of his employees of stealing some tools.

The owner then mentioned that he requested certain tools from one of his technicians, identified as José Angel Flores.

The 47 year old subject first declared that he was robbed but finished confessing that he had sold the items to a pawn shop.

The owner asked Flores to turn in the rest of the equipment along with the company truck and Flores took a long time to return the items and when he did return, he only rendered the vehicle, stating that the equipment had been stolen from his house.

Investigators were able to prove that Flores did report the burglary of the tools and that two days later he went to a pawn shop where he sold equipment and other company items such as a vacuum cleaner, and other accessories.

Flores received charges for a misdemeanor theft case and for lying to authorities, remaining behind bars on a 3,250 dollar bond.
