Program Warns All Young Drivers of Laredo

LAREDO, Tx.- Thanks to an electronic simulator, the Teens in the Driver Seat program from the school of arts Vidal M. Trevino, sent an alert to community youth about the dangers of driving while intoxicated.

Managers of this facility, along with Sheriff Martin Cuellar, prepared the National Arrive Alive Tour 2010 event, whose main attraction is the simulation of accidents caused by drunk drivers.

Cuellar indicated that this device simulates road conditions and the risks young people take if they drive a vehicle while intoxicated.

The sheriff made a special presentation to local students at St. Peter's Plaza, warning young people to avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and then getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

The prevention campaign is organized by UNITE, a national organization dedicated to promoting health, that visits schools throughout the country, from elementary to universities.

It's important to know that this program is considered the best in the nation for the prevention of accidents caused by drunk drivers because in addition to using an electronic simulator, it also has an impact video along with other resources to draw the attention of young people during the presentation.

"We are always seeking programs that help improve the safety of our youth, it is a priority in my department," Sheriff Cuellar assured.
