LAREDO, TX.- The Sheriff's Department will propose the installation of a portable building as a monitoring substation in Rio Bravo, south of Laredo.

Sheriff Martín Cuellar will present a proposal on Monday before the Commissioners Court, to install a mobile home next to the Rio Bravo community center.

Commissioner Frank Sciaraffa, supports this project which aims and strives to strengthen security in that area of the county.

The portable building will allow Sheriff Cuellar to send agents and units to form a permanent substation that will take responsibilty for any emergencies that occur in Rio Bravo and El Cenizo.

The sheriff assured that this project will not cost anything to the county tax payers because the mobile home was delivered by the federal government, thanks to the efforts of Congressman Henry Cuellar.

He said that residents of Rio Bravo and El Cenizo have struggled for a long time in order to have a substation that provides greater security on their streets and neighborhoods.

Commissioners Court will decide at the meeting on Monday whether to approve this project for the benefit of over two thousand residents.
