LAREDO, TX.- A woman was placed under arrest by Border Patrol agents for possessing a cargo of 30 kilograms of marijuana.

Mónica Sáenz was sent to the county jail after being arrested at the migratory booth south of Hebbronville, on highway 1017 in east Laredo.

According to reports, Sáenz arrived to the booth in a vehicle and stated that she did not have anything to declare.

When migratory agents asked the subject questions, a trained canine began barking towards the spare tire.

The vehicle was then sent to secondary and upon opening the tire five packages were found with a total of 30 kilos of marijuana, with a street value of 50,000 dollars.

The woman confessed to federal agents that she was headed to Austin, Texas with the intention of selling the narcotics to help her own economic benefit.

The detainee, along with the vehicle, and the cargo of marijuana were turned over to the DEA to continue with the investigation.

    Marijuana=Narcotics ??? Somebody needs a dictionary. Another reason to take drug enforcement away from cops, especially the dea.

    I've never seen a more worthless government program than the dea. They don't know what they are talking about.

    And, apparently, law enforcement can NOT keep cannabis away from anyone that wants it. Cannabis prohibition is working just like alcohol prohibition.

    It isn't. Time to quit borrowing 40 cents on the dollar for the $60-$70 Billion spend every just to keep cannabis away from the population that, apparently, wants to use cannabis.

    One day, China will come looking for their money.
