LAREDO, Tx.- The scouting program from the Laredo Police Department led by sergeant in charge Eduardo Cabello, was recognized by the state for their excellence and good organization.

Scouts of this agency traveled to Corpus Christi to receive the William H. Spurgeon award, during the annual conference of the South Texas Council.

This is the highest recognition given to an organization or individual by the scouting program to recognize their contributions and leadership that they have in their cities.

The Police Departament has more than 30 years working with this project and has been wisely directed by Sargent Cabello for the last 11 years.

"This recognition is the result of hard work that has been done, our department is committed to supporting positive programs like this, to inspire future leaders of the community," Police Chief indicated.

Through the years some of the participants have become Police officials and currently serve in protecting their community.
